Somatic work helps us heal from trauma and often enhances the work of talk therapy. Somatic techniques focus on recognizing body sensations and creating a felt sense of safety inside - something early life adversity, trauma, and illness can make difficult. Attention is given to building awareness and increasing our ability to be in our body.

Breathwork, touch, and movement can quickly affect our body, brain, and organ systems, all of which drive our mood, thoughts, and feelings. These techniques help us with up-regulation (bringing up our internal state to raise our mood) and down-regulation (things we can do to calm our state, quiet our mind, and curb panic).
